The family is very grateful that Diana provided the around the clock medical care as he wished to remain in the comfort of his own home. Although a huge loss for his family, we are relieved that his suffering has ended. He will be greatly missed by his children Cliff, Nick (Anne Stewart), Jeff and Karen (Paul Sweeney). It is a loss that we will feel for a lifetime. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Suzy, Jake, John, Kayla and Daniel. The kids got a glimpse of how versatile Grandad was. His sister, Maureen from England visited in early summer which cheered him up while he battled pneumonia. Kevin was one of a kind, with an extraordinary intelligence, a man of few words, with many complex interests. He excelled in business and technology. Kevin was always a few steps ahead of his time. He came to Canada at age 19 from England with a borrowed suitcase, and $100 to his name. His entrepreneurial spirit founded, and successfully operated, MOMENTUM (A Division of Kevin Johnson Ltd.) in Newmarket since 1974. Our father was a very humble man, and was content with the bare essentials of life. He understood and valued life in Canada where we have the privilege of democracy, freedom and free speech. At a young age, he had experienced bombing raids during World War II in England and learned waste not, want not. He believed in helping others in need, and has generously donated from his estate to the registered charities DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS CANADA and THE LEPROSY RELIEF FUND OF CANADA. As per our father’s wishes, there will be no funeral, but the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. His wishes were to donate his body to science to the University of Toronto to assist medical students in training and disease research.
