Condolence: Uncle Chuck, it still doesn’t feel real. You were the strongest man I ever knew, and I think I convinced myself at a young age that you would live forever. I wish that were true. I’m sure you look amazing in your wings - you earned them. I keep imagining the smiles on Nana and Pop’s faces when they finally got to hug you again after all these years. Thank you for your love, life lessons, and for countless pieces of bubble gum. I will never forget the sound of your voice, or the feeling of your hugs. I love you so much ❤️

Condolence: Dearest Gail, Our sincere condolences, please know how deeply saddened we are of Chuck's passing. A man of thoughtful and lived faith I hope this brings you comfort in your road ahead. Chuck as my boss and for those I alos know who were privileged to work along side him will always be remembered as a joy. For me personally Chuck's mentorships was transforming on both a professional and personal level. He brought his principled ideals and spirited energy to the work at hand. In so doing he encouraged us to communicate and innovate freely. He served as national president of our professional association (CARP) during a time which made significant strides in professionalizing the field. For those in the profession he is owned a great debt of gratitude for his vision and support. I will always treasure our work together and the personal time shared which brought both lively debate and laughter. Gail please know we will forever keep Chuck's memory in our good thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace, until we meet again.

Condolence: I have the pleasure of being married to Chucks little sister Ruth , and being his Brother in law for the last 24 years . Chuck accepted me into the family , and always made me feel welcome , and I will miss our Christmas dinners that were always humorous as he would try to gain order and quiet over a room of his uncooperative little neices & nephews excited about their presents ! Chuck inspired me on more than one occasion whether it be his love of family , his undying faith or his ability to kick my butt in a game of golf with a debilitating disease holding him back ! He never failed to amaze me as he tried to make the very best of each day he had on this earth no matter how much his body fought back at him , and nobody would have thought less of him if he just wanted to take it easy , but that was not his way ! He was a fighter right up till the end , and the strongest man I have ever known ! You will be missed Chuck , and I will try my best to watch over your little sister and the family in your absence . RIP my friend it has been an honor to be your brother in law , and I love you

Condolence: Chuck & Gail have been close friends for almost 50 years. We have many wonderful shared memories of holidays, golf, New Year's celebrations & always much laughter. Family, friends & his church were central to Chuck's life focus. He was very interested in others & was always ready with words of encouragement. Chuck was admired for his strength & determination in dealing with adversity & his own health challenges. He spoke often of his gratitude for the many blessings experienced throughout his life. We are grateful he was part of our lives for so many years. We will miss him.

Condolence: Chuck was a good friend and mentor, but also a guide. As a Director my boss, he encouraged free thought, exploring new incentives & providing the support needed to achieve them. He literally changed my life & for the better. Chuck was disciplined, fair minded & creative. He challenged the status quo & when the Board failed to recognize the value of it's Rehabilitation staff he spearheaded the establishment of a Union. Unprecedented, unheard of & one of the biggest surprises & upsets management had ever experienced. Chuck in all of his achievements still retained his sense of humour & of irony. G.B. Shaw must have had Chuck in mind when he said, "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." How many iterations have we seen not only in his professional life, but in his personal life! "Bravo". Not to forget the really fun side of Chuck & Gail as they hosted, not to be missed, parties on Poplar Road & the incredible annual golfing events. Tremendous memories & deep fellowships. Winnie the Pooh says it best, "How lucky I am to have known someone, that makes saying goodbye so hard". Gail you were Chuck's foundation, his pillar & his great love. Our hearts go out to you as does our abiding love.

Condolence: I knew and worked with Chuck for 11 years at the (then) WCB. I remember him as principled and quite fearless, with a high level of energy and a strong willingness to push boundaries. I recall his strong interest in politics and, most importantly, how he took a relatively small section of the Rehabilitation Division - Placement and Employment - and created a powerful machine that became the driving force of the rehabilitation initiative. He was a force to be reckoned with and one who championed and mentored so many of his colleagues and staff. He touched the lives of many and he will be missed. Sincere condolences to Chuck’s family and friends at this most difficult time.

Condolence: Gail my sincerest condolences to you and the family. Have wonderful memories of Chuck over the course of our careers. You'll recall I was his AD when he became Director of F & A prior to his retirement. He was always very supportive. Whatever risk I took, I knew he had my back. We also shared a very strong Anglican and Liberal Party connection back then. I know the struggle has not been easy but he did it with great dignity, courage, including a sense of humour. He will be missed.

Condolence: My Uncle Chuck ❤️...and to all my close friends their “Uncle Chuck”. You were a steady, positive and unwavering influence in my life. A true classic and original who always put God and family first. The proud patriarch of our family and the one who could always be relied on for sound advice and guidance. You were a fighter all the way, suffering through many years of illness making no complaints and always thankful for another day. I will never forget the lessons you taught me and the integrity instilled in me. You taught me to focus on what matters “Take care of your family love your mom and go to Church”. I hope I made you proud and will always cherish the memories we made. R.I.P.

Condolence: I worked with Chuck as we called him at the WCB in Employment Services. We were like a big family, something that is rare. Chuck was instrumental in establishing CARP the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, an organization that I ended up belonging to for over 30 years. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. My deepest sympathy, Aurelia (former Placement Specialist)
