It is with heavy hearts and great sadness, that we, the Arcangeli family wish to announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Anne Arcangeli (nee Morris) at home in Beaverton, Ontario.
She will be missed dearly by Ron, her loving husband of 63 years. Betty is forever in the hearts of her children Laura (Bill), Peter (Shanon), and Brenda (Dave). She had eight grandchildren and one great grandson, whom she loved deeply; Rowland (Afi), Marty, Shane, Mia, Olivia, Jake, Garrett, Robyn and Ayden.
Betty was born in New Glasgow, N.S.and was a proud Nova Scotian. She was predeceased by her parents Rowland and Margurite Morris, her siblings Richie, Peanie, and Gibby. She is survived by her younger sister Margo.
She is lovingly remembered by her sisters in law, nieces and nephews, her many friends, neighbours and Bridge partners. Betty was also a proud Torontonian. She was a Havergal woman, who exuded grace and style. She graduated Guelph University, Mack Hall and was a teacher in early childhood education.
Betty was always involved in her community no matter where she lived or for how long. Early in their marriage the family lived in the Montreal and Ottawa areas. In 1972 the Arcangeli family moved to Thornhill, where they lived for more than 35 years. She was a very active community member. Betty was involved with the Newcomer’s Club acting as the president for more than one term. She was involved with the children’s sports, schools, numerous organizations and activities. Her time spent at her family cottage on Lake of Bays in the Muskoka area was also an important part of her life. Life was always an adventure for and with Betty. She loved to travel and share her experiences with everyone.
She loved entertaining, ‘the more the merrier.’
Betty had a special knack for Interviewing and questioning people. She would know a stranger’s life story in minutes. To her, their lives mattered and she was interested in others.
Spending time with family and friends, telling stories, living, loving and laughing, often with a rum and coke in her hand, made her happy. A celebration of ‘Betty’s Life’ will be held at a later date in the spring.
