BIRD, GARY FREDRICK DECEMBER 4, 1932 - Novem-ber 8, 2020 Passed away peacefully in his home, at the age of 87, surrounded by his family. Beloved Husband to Margaret; Father to Randy (Lorraine), Theresa (Cyril), Paul; and Shane (Casey) Grandfather to Erin, Christopher, Brandon, Tyler, Brayden, Ethan, and Violet. Brother to Harvey, and Barbara. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Gary was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan and his love of hockey saw him play to the age of 79. He coached many hockey clubs in Toronto and shared his love of the game and tal-ent as a hockey school instructor at Western and Ted Reeve Arenas in Toronto for many years. He loved a good card game (crib and euchre) and travelling to Aruba to en-joy the sun. Family and friends will have many wonderful summer memories of the cottage at Wasaga Beach. A strong man with a tough exterior, tempered to softness by his love for his family and loyalty to his friends. Gary will be greatly missed by those whose lives he brought joy, laugh-ter, brightness and entertainment - and no one will ever forget his handshake. A celebration of Gary’s life will take place at a later date.
