Obituary for Harvey Edward Spence

Harvey Spence passed away in the home that he built in Bolsover in the early morning hours of Sunday January 3rd, 2021. Harv was husband and best friend to Beth, father to Paul (Calgary) and well known to many in and around Beaverton. He will be fondly remembered for his joke telling and good-natured outlook on life and for living his life to the fullest. He was a hard worker, a contractor and skilled craftsman in the Beaverton area who honed his skills over his lifetime. He also served his community as a former Boy Scout leader and a dedicated member of the Beaverton Lions Club. He and Beth travelled as much as they could and enjoyed their time together whether it be in Florida or on the deck at home overlooking Butternut Creek. He is predeceased by his sister Francis (Robert) McGee. He has shared in events in recent years with the families of his brother, Roger and Sherry Spence (Cannington) and sister, Gertrude (George-deceased) Elliott, (Mount Albert) and he cherished his nieces and nephews who in turn loved him for his smile, sense of humor and his willingness to lend a hand. Harv will be sadly missed by many friends but the positive memories will never be forgotten. A celebration of Harvey’s life will take place at a later date. If so desired memorial donations in memory of Harvey to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences are welcomed at www.manganfuneralhome.com
