Obituary for Jan BUCKING

In loving memory of Jan Bucking, 81 years peacefully in his sleep September 19th, 2019 at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital with loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Dianne for 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Rose (Ron), Cindy ( Brian), Karen (pre-deceased), Teresa (Jamie), Andrew, David (Meghan). Cherished grandfather of Jillian, Alissa, Charlee (Patrick), Carter, Parker, Lucas, Alex, Vada, and Sage. Great grandfather to Benjamin and Liliana. Loving son of Tony and Siena Bucking (predeceased). The eldest sibling to Corrie (John), Bennett (Betty), Gerry (predeceased)(Pat), Aggie, Tony (Jane), Siena (predeceased), Herman (Pat), Bill (Lucy). He will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends from the area. Jan was brought to Canada in 1952 from Holland with his family to begin a new life. Settling in Claremont On, the family farm was the new beginning for so many. His career in agriculture began with the Claremont Co-op, until able to purchase his own mill at the age of 26. His entrepreneurial spirit lives on in several of his children. Jan was a sounding board, a confidant, a trusted friend, and a steady landmark for area farmers for many years as he operated the Woodville Feed Mill from 1964 to 1994, and then moving onto working at other area feed stores until his final retirement in 2001. An avid woodworker in his retirement, he spent many hours building for family and fun. He loved flying his homing pigeons with several clubs around the Beaverton area. His enjoyment came from watching them come home from even hundreds of miles away, and celebration of those seemingly minute successes. He was there for many and asked for little. A man of few words but a huge heart, always ready to lend a helping hand. A Celebration of life service will be held at the Beacan Presbyterian church 413 Simcoe St. Beaverton, on Saturday September 28th at 11 A.M. If so desired memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences are welcomed at www.manganfuneralhome.com
