Obituary for Janice Warren

Warren: Janice
September 1, 1950 - December 4, 2021
Janice is predeceased by her parents, Lou and Margaret Warren. She is survived by her bother Bill and sisters Deborah Warren and Laurie Rowles.
Janice lived an extremely interesting life. Immediately following high school she worked with Jimmy Day, an Olympic Equestrian gold medalist, training the famous award winning Steelmaster. From wearing rubber boots to high heels, Janice worked in down town Toronto in the corporate world. She learned her cooking and presentation skills while working for a catering company. Having enough of the “big city” Janice went to visit brother Bill In the NWT where she worked on a trapline for over a year as well as taking part in a Caribou roundup.
Without proper training or experience, she talked her way to becoming the head chef on a Dutch oil rig and they loved her cooking! For the last many years Janice has lived and worked in Pine Falls and became a beloved honorary member of the Courchane family. Janice loved taking Brett to hockey games and the grandchildren on many field trips.
She ran the kitchen at the local school where she taught many students food prep and cooking. She hosted an internet site for gardening and cooking which were very popular. Janice was an intelligent innovator who had a strong will but loved with all her heart.
