Obituary for Richard Lorne Larry Jerome

JEROME: Richard (Rick) Lorne Larry June 6, 1978 - December 8, 2021
It is with broken hearts and big shoes left to fill that suddenly Rick Jerome, 43 of Kirkfield left this earth to be with many angels already waiting for him. Survived by his wife, Denise and his 3 beautiful children Hailey, Brittney and Justin who he loved and were his entire world. Beloved son of Larry and Valerie Jerome of Bracebridge; Son-in-Law to Ted and Katherine Mabb of Mitchell. Brother to Rebecca Holm-Jerome (Adam) and Brother-in-law to Kevin/Vicki Mabb, Shaun/Tristan Mabb. Always a crazy uncle to Jordan/Taylor Mabb, Macalo Holm, Ryla/Parker Mabb. He will be missed by many aunts/uncles and cousins. His hands were always busy and those same hands provided him with the ability to fix anything. From a very young age his mechanical knowledge was evident in everything he did. There never was a time where he couldn't be found taking something that was brand new out of a box and finding a way to modify/customize it so it would out-perform, go faster and be one of a kind. That need for speed was his focus and it didn't matter if the machine was meant for snow, water or mud. His passion trickled down to his kids where he always gave them opportunities to help daddy out in the garage. Power tools to manual work, he was a dedicated, hard-working guy who would always be willing to help others or answer a question and never asked for anything in return. He fulfilled his ultimate dream and spent many days cruising around in his happy place which turned into rock, paper, scissors with the kids as to who went along for the ride first. The fun was never-ending, the family adventures plenty, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family. "Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out shouting MAN...what a ride!" If so desired memorial donations in memory of Rick to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Hospital for Sick Children would be greatly appreciated by the family.
