Obituary for William James Robertson

William (Bill) J. Robertson- It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle and friend on January 7th, 2022 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Born and raised in Toronto, Rexdale and Etobicoke. He was the loving son of the late Ida (Stockton) and Bill Robertson Senior. Loving wife of Marlene for 54 years, father of Joanne (Jim) grandsons of Ian and Trevor. Bill started his work career in his late teens as a Class "A" mechanic working for Motorways Transport in Rexdale. It wasn't to long till he was employed for Otis Canada Incorporated in Toronto and was there for 37 years until his retirement in December 1999 when his first grandson Ian was born. He was retired for 22 years. Bill enjoyed life to the fullest. His wife, daughter, family and friends were very special to him. As well as his lifelong buddy Joe Cox. Bill and Marlene enjoyed entertaining at their country home on the Trent Talbot River. Bill took on the hobby of gardening when he retired much to the surprise of the family. Preparing lots of hanging baskets and window boxes he produced himself overflowing with all sorts of beautiful plants. He was very proud of his achievements and so was everyone else. At Bill's request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place and a "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date. If desired, donations can be made to honor Bill at Kawartha Lakes Humane Society in Lindsay, Ontario or a charity of your choice. Bill loved animals. Bill will be deeply missed to all who knew him even those who knew him for only a short time.
