Obituary for John Alexander CLEMENTS

CLEMENTS, John Alexander Sr. (Alec)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John Alexander Clements. A 42 year veteran and retired District Chief of the Toronto Fire Department, John went in peace, quietly on Thursday January 7, 2016 at the age of 82.

A long-time resident of the Town of Beaverton, John was the loving husband of the late Jean Clements (nee McKnight) and will be deeply missed by his seven children; Katherine, Yvonne, Victoria (Gary), Jeannie Jr., John Jr. (Gina), Julie (Ron) and Mary.

John was part of his family legacy of five generations and was a caring grandfather to nine grandchildren ten great grand-children and two great-great grandchildren and proud son of pre-deceased parents Norman and Mable Kathleen (nee Cameron), brother of Gordon (deceased) and Norma (deceased). He will be warmly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Your strength and commitment to family and heritage will live on in our hearts forever.

John was blessed before cremation and joined his cherished wife Jean following a private family gathering. A graveside internment service will be held at a later date at the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Beaverton, Ontario where John’s ashes will be placed in the family burial plot.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, caregivers, first responders, family and friends for their compassion, professionalism and excellent care.
